Canal Clean-Up in Electric Boats: Volunteering with a Purpose

Last week, the Hive Cleaning team took to the water for the latest in our series of environmental volunteering projects and to support #PlasticFreeJuly — this time tackling plastic waste along the canal from Paddington to Camden Lock in electric GoBoats!

We were joined by brilliant clients from monday.com, JTP Architects, and Planet Mark, and together in the sunshine, we collected 10 full bags of plastic and other waste polluting this beautiful waterway.

After a few hours of rewarding (and surprisingly fun!) clean-up, we celebrated with a well-earned drink at the pub — because making a difference should feel good too.

This canal clean-up represents the “Water” element of our trio of regular environmental volunteering initiatives:

Air – Caring for urban bees

Land – Tree planting in our Devon meadow

Water – Keeping our canals clean and plastic-free
