August 2026 Canal Clean-up

Last Friday, we headed back out onto one of our favourite London's waterways – Regent’s Canal - for one of our regular canal cleaning days. This is a part of our Air, Land, Water volunteering projects and a firm fixture in our sustainability and plastic reduction strategy, and every year we look forward to it.

We were joined by our staff as well as several of our clients, who came along to get stuck in with us. As always, we teamed up with GoBoat UK, whose fleet runs entirely on renewable-powered electric boats, as wanted our day to be as low-impact as the mission behind it.

We're proud to have been one of the companies leading the way on this kind of initiative, and it's genuinely encouraging to see more and more businesses picking it up too. We know several companies who started running their own canal clean-ups after seeing what we were doing, and the effect is starting to show: each year we're seeing less plastic in the water than the year before. That's exactly the outcome we're after, and a reminder that leading by example works.

Needless to say, it was a lovely day: good weather, good company, and a real sense of purpose as we made our way along the canal collecting bottles, bags, and all the usual debris that finds its way into London's waterways. Passers-by stopped to cheer us on, glad to see the canal getting a bit of care.

Thank you to everyone who gave up their Friday to help. Days like this are a small but meaningful part of how we carry out environmental responsibilities, and we're already looking forward to next canal cleaning session – get in touch if you’re interested in joining.
