We have many ongoing initiatives to minimise single use plastics, however there are certain things (bin liners, packaging, wrapping and containers) that we are unable to mitigate at the moment. Whilst much of this is effectively recycled, we felt we needed to take additional action.
Since 2020 as part of our continuous improvement approach to sustainability we have decided the best way for us to reduce the environmental impact of single use plastic is to offset this waste with the Plastic Bank.
For the estimated 1,000Kg of unavoidable waste plastic we directly or indirectly generate through our business activities, we have this much plastic collected from the Great Atlantic garbage patch and correctly processed, repurposed or recycled.
