As one of London’s most sustainable cleaning companies, we make our everyday choices based on eco-friendly solutions — and this World Refill Day on June 16th, we're proud to be part of a global movement showing that a world without single-use plastic isn’t just possible — it’s already happening.
Led by City to Sea, an environmental organisation campaigning to stop plastic pollution at source, World Refill Day is a call to action for businesses and individuals to ditch disposables and embrace reusables. This isn’t about a far-off future — but changes happening right now.
As part of our commitment to reducing waste, we have two major refill initiatives:
We have replaced all single-use plastic hand soap and lotion bottles in our clients’ offices with sleek, refillable glass dispensers. It’s a simple switch with a powerful effect — reducing hundreds of kilogrammes of plastic waste, improving aesthetics, and supporting a healthier planet.
Another important initiative, implemented in all of the clients’ offices, is the use of the groundbreaking Toucan Eco equipment. It uses tap water and normal salt and, using a special form of electrolysis called electrochemical activation, makes a multipurpose disinfectant cleaning solution virtually on tap. This creates a powerful, eco-friendly and safe solution that you make yourself on demand, reducing the need for synthetic chemical cleaners and the single-use plastic bottles they are supplied in.

We are also proud to be certified by the Plastic Bank Foundation for 6 years, stopping an equivalent of 50,000 plastic bottles yearly from entering the ocean and helping to gather more than a quarter of a million bottles since joining them in 2020. We have also made annual contributions to offset the minimal but unavoidable plastic used in its operations.

World Refill Day is the perfect moment to join this global wave of positive action, and we would recommend checking out www.refill.org.uk for tips or exploring how your business can join the reuse economy. Every step counts.
