We have just received our 7th consecutive business certification from The Planet Mark, which monitors and measures our carbon emissions in Scope 1, 2 and some categories of Scope 3. It is great to have our credentials as a sustainable, eco-friendly cleaning company confirmed by an external consultant, along with our internal measurements.

We are delighted to share that we achieved Net Zero in Carbon Emission Scopes 1 and 2 in 2024 and have only unavoidable emissions in the Scope 3 categories as a result of our continuous sustainable operations and carbon footprint reduction.

  • Scope 1 covers direct emissions from a company's operations, such as gas or company vehicles.

  • Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from purchased energy.

  • Scope 3 encompasses all other indirect emissions in the value chain, such as procurement, commuting, waste and water.

The Planet Mark certificate stated that "Hive Cleaning has achieved Planet Mark Certified - Business by reporting its measured carbon emissions, reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions (market-based) by 100% compared to the previous reporting period".

We have reduced our emissions according to both market and location-based methodologies, also per employee and per turnover. The following excerpts from our Certification report tell more about our journey.

The Planet Mark also sets targets for us for the next year, which we are confident we can meet as we have been consistent and successful in our carbon reduction strategies for the last 7 years.

Our certification also checks our alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and while we are aligned to 13 SDGs, below are the priorities relevant to the Planet Mark report:

Thanks to Planet Mark for working with us on this, and we are grateful to our customers, suppliers and staff for their consistent support of our Net Zero journey. We are pleased to be the recipient of their recent Best Company award and look forward to our future collaboration with them.
