The next part of our #BCorpMonth Meet the People series is about our Executive Director, Chris Underhill.
What's your role at Hive?
After my years as a Director, I am now an Executive Director and spend less time at work than I used to. I support the team in the best way possible, whether that be in a consultation role or just physically helping out where I can.
Where were you born? Shepherdess Walk off City Rd, London. Not in hospital as I am old and have 2 older sisters, I was born at home.
Which languages do you speak? Unfortunately, only English and some very broken Spanish:) in the early days, having multi-lingual people on the team with me helped enormously.
Favourite food: I am not reverting to type at all, but Pie, Mash and Liqueur would be my absolute favourite. I very much prefer good wholesome food to anything fancy. You can take the boy out of London, etc...
Favourite music: I listen to music a lot. I have a very eclectic taste, from rock, soul, and pop from the 70’s to the current date, just not Jazz!
Favourite film: I love film &TV, best TV is Game Of Thrones. There are way too many films, but the original Blade Runner stands out.
Favourite book: I enjoy reading but only really get the time on holiday. My standout books have been ones that have really helped me, so Feel the Fear (And Do It Anyway).
Hobbies: Anyone who knows me knows golf is a passion along with padel. I don’t mind a holiday now that I have time and can spend time with my 2 grandchildren.
What's the best thing about working at Hive? Wow! I would say the people are the best thing about Hive. From having worked for big organisations in the past, Hive has a real family feel. We always have fun, and I don’t think there has been a day we haven’t laughed, even through the tears sometimes.
