A special Meet the People blog, introducing our newest team member, Lola Kanto. Meet Lola in her own words:
I recently started my role as a Workforce and Operational Manager at Hive about a week and a half ago. My journey here has been quite special—I actually started years ago as a part-time evening cleaner and over time I’ve had the chance to work in many different positions. Now I help recruit new people and support their training, which I really enjoy. I’m still learning every day, but it’s exciting to grow and help others start their journey at Hive too.
Where were you born? I was born in Hungary, where I spent my early years before moving to the UK. Growing up there gave me a lot of lovely memories and a strong connection to my culture and family. Hungary will always feel special to me because it’s where my story began.
Which languages do you speak? I speak Hungarian and English.
Favourite food: My favourite food is probably Bolognese. I could honestly eat it all the time! It’s delicious, comforting, and also very easy to make.
Favourite music and film: This always depends on my mood! I love all kinds of music and movies, and I watch a lot of films. It’s actually becoming a challenge to find one I haven’t seen yet.
Hobbies: I love gaming in my free time, but one of my favourite things to do is going for walks with my dog. I’m a huge dog fan and I love taking him to different places so we can explore together.
Best thing about working at Hive: The best thing about working at Hive is definitely the people. I’ve met so many wonderful colleagues and had some amazing opportunities along the way. Because of Hive I’ve explored Central London like never before, gained valuable skills, and been able to grow in my career.
